butterfly hanging out in the garden....

A few days ago I was out checking out the garden with mom, and I spotted this butterfly sitting on one of the rods holding up the tomato plants. I knew my camera was downstairs, but I just knew if I just ran in for a second, it will fly away. But I took my chances because I have not had the chance to take pictures of any butterflies. So I ran in and ran out and to my surprise, there it was hanging out on a leaf in the garden as still as a rock. It only hopped around a little bit while I was taking pictures. The only disappointing thing was that it would not open up its wings...oh well :)

Mother-Daughter Tea Party!

This pass Saturday, our girl's Discipleship group had a party for the mom's and daughters who are in the group. It was plenty fun! Michelle and her sister came and spoke on the importance of modesty. They also have a store that sell amazing modest clothing!! They bought their store to the party so we could try on and buy their products. Here is the link to their online store. Some members of our group did a fashion show to show some of the clothes that they sell. Fun stuff!!!

my 18th birthday!

My Birthday was pretty awesome! My family and friends made it a birthday to remember. After I got my license the evening before my birthday, my dad took me to Cheddars for dinner!

One my Birthday, my siblings gave me some neato presents including candy--Hershey's and lemonheads-- and money to spend at Hobby Lobby (YES!!). For fun, we went to the mall and found a few good deals. Then we came home as satisfied shoppers and ate birthday cake!

Later on, we had caregroup at our house and Mrs. Carolyn made the most amazing ice cream cakes for my birthday! (Thank you soo much Mrs. Carolyn!) I unfortunately do not have any pics of the cakes- they were so pretty. Then they sang Happy Birthday which was really nice!

graduations...

I have really enjoyed this graduation season! Besides Chris' graduation party I got to help two other families with setting up and decorating for their graduation party. I really enjoy decorating and being behind the scene at parties. This year it was mostly guys graduating this year. Here are a few pics of the Class of '09 graduates!!

a few garden woes

Well our squash plants are doing poorly now. Because of how close we planted them together, mildew started to grow on the leaves, so mom had to pull some of the squash plants out to get rid of it. I did not take a picture of the mildew on our plants, but this is how it looks:

The mildew can be pretty dangerous for the plant, so ours continues to grow quash at a very slow rate.

How the garden looks now:

Yes, mom had to put some netting around the tomatoes because at least three of our tomatoes were being eaten by birds!


On the other hand, the tomatoes and the bell peppers are doing great. We seem to always be picking tomatoes and the bells almost at the same rate at the tomatoes.

Sunsets......

I think one of my most favorite things to take pictures of are sunsets. They are so beautiful and a great example of how amazing God's creation is! I feel lucky to be able to capture sunsets because they last for only a little while at the end of the day. Here are a few that I have captured!!!

overall thoughs...

Overall at NEXT, I realized that God is really big and I am small and only through Him can I run, play piano, or do well in school. It is so great to be able to lean on Jesus an cast all my worries on Him. I will be taking an Algebra placement test this week at Cy-fair. I also have over 60 lessons of Algebra 2 to work through before the semester a Cy-fair starts up in August. Math is my hardest subject and one that I have always struggled at, but know whatever score I get I know that that God has a plan for me so I do not have to worry about anything!!
