English Class at Cyfair

English at the college is going pretty well! This week was spring break for us. My class is doing research position papers! It has been fun looking up sources and support for my paper. My paper has to do with studying Bibles in public schools, so I have been looking for sources that support Bibles in schools. It is due on Tuesday, so I am almost done. Adrienne gave me some good critique on my paper, so that is what I am working on now. I enjoy these kind of papers!!

Goodtimes!

A few Fridays ago, Jen had a teen game night! It was really awesome! We discussed a verse from the Worldliness book then played the Wii and Taboo. Here are a few pics:

Gardening beginings.....

My mom will be doing some gardening this year so earlier this week we dug up a square of our backyard. Mom will be planting tomatoes, squash, and bell pepers. We have not planted anything yet because of a cold front and rain. But we will plant early next week. Here are some pics!

White background pics...

Today I did some experimenting with photography:
I took some paper and propped it up like this (actually the back of some scrapbooking paper :) ).

That was fun.

Mom's Birthday!!

On March first was my mom's Birthday! she received some great gifts including sugar free chocolate. (her favorite!) At the end of the day we sang Happy Birthday as one candle was lit atop of her healthy rendition of a 7Up cake.

I thought I would share this vintage photo: a picture of my mom with her sibilings. (My mom has her hands raised.)

Race pics.... Race thoughts.....

Here is the link to a few photos from the race. They do not let you save them to your computer because they want you to buy the pictures :). http://www.brightroom.com/view_user_event.asp?EVENTID=47852&BIB=2619&S=230&PWD==

I was thinking about the race and my post about the race and I stopped and realized that in my post I explained that the knee band really helped me and how I probably could not have ran the whole race without it. I did not once mention that band or no band that God helped me finish the race. But I want to post now that :through God only are all things possible!!!! He gave me the strength to run.

The Race

The 10k race was amazing!!! It was very challenging but a great experience! My time was 1:7:59!

Chip time: 01:07:59.08
Gun time:01:12:45.56
First 5k 00:34:19
second 5k 00: 33:39
pace per mile : 00:10:56

I am really satisfied with my time knowing that my knee was not 100%. The knee band definitely helped me although it was sore afterwards. But the race course led us to a highway, so we were running upwards for a while(that was hard!)!! It was soo much fun starting the race with 10,ooo other people! The 5k and 10k split off at I think the first mile. Their were 4597 10k runners and I came in 3176th place. I do not have any pictures of me running(they will be putting some up on the website soon) but here are some pics of the day and the link to my finish line video. (the finish line time starts when the wheelchair event starts so it is off by a few minutes.) The pictures are out of order so the picture of me here was taken after the race.

They should be placing pictures of mostly every runner on the website so I will try to post a link when they do.
